Política de Conflito de Interesse

Commitment to Transparency and Scientific Integrity

Temáticas adopts a rigorous conflict of interest management policy to ensure impartiality and credibility throughout the editorial process. Authors, reviewers, and editors must declare any situations that could influence — or be perceived as influencing — the evaluation, publication, or interpretation of scientific works.

What constitutes a conflict of interest?

A conflict of interest is understood as any personal, professional, academic, or financial relationship that compromises the objectivity of the editorial process, including, but not limited to:

  • Funding by commercial entities with a direct interest in the research results;

  • Personal or professional relationships (e.g., advisor-advisee, frequent collaborators) that may affect neutrality in peer review;

  • Academic or institutional competition that interferes with the fair evaluation of a manuscript.

Disclosure and Handling

  • Authors must declare potential conflicts at the time of submission using the journal's specific form.

  • Reviewers and editors are required to disclose conflicts upon accepting the evaluation of a manuscript and, if necessary, recuse themselves from the process.

The existence of a declared conflict does not necessarily imply the rejection of the work. Each case will be analyzed by the Editorial Committee, which may adopt measures such as:

  • Publication of a conflict of interest statement alongside the article;

  • Appointment of alternative reviewers;

  • In serious situations, retraction or public correction.

Failure to disclose an identified conflict of interest at a later stage will result in editorial actions, which may include the disqualification of the manuscript or public notification.

Temáticas reinforces its commitment to research ethics, aligned with the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.
