Abstract
This essay is the result of field research conducted between 2017 and 2020 on Ilha do Combu, one of the 39 islands that make up the insular part of the capital city of Belém, in the Amazon of Pará. The goal of the research was to analyze the relationship of residents and artists from their representative and aesthetic relations of graffiti, with a focus on the production of meaning and the construction of meanings. The artist manifestations are part of the Street River project, idealized by the visual artist Sebá Tapajós, with the participation of several artists, both national and international.
