Abstract

This issue brings together a set of articles that, in different contexts, examine the effects of so-called “algorithmic governmentality” (Rosa et al., 2024), a phenomenon that reflects the growing influence of artificial intelligence on the shaping of social behavior. Through sophisticated algorithms and large-scale data collection, digital platforms modulate individuals’ attention, strategically guiding their interactions and perceptions in alignment with technopolitical interests. As Rosa et al. (2024) argue in Technoconservatism and the Parallel Brazil, this dynamic reveals a new regime of power based on the management of information and the induction of behavioral patterns.
