Hybrid peer-review process

Dear Colleagues,

This message is intended to inform you of changes to the peer-review practices of the Journal of Art and Cultural History (RHAC), which will be implemented in the coming months for future publications. In recognition of your contributions as both authors and reviewers of RHAC over the past years, we are writing to explain the new process. Information about these changes will also be available on our Submission page and will be reiterated in future review invitations.

In accordance with Open Science practices, which have become increasingly central to the evaluation criteria adopted by international indexing services and by the UNICAMP Scientific Journals Portal, RHAC has been updating several of its editorial procedures. Among these changes is the adoption of a hybrid peer-review system, replacing the previous double-blind review model. From now on, all review reports concerning manuscripts accepted for publication will be published as supplementary files alongside the final article on our website. In the review form, reviewers will have the option either to remain anonymous or to disclose their identity. In this way, readers of the journal will have access to all information related to the review process, while preserving any comments intended exclusively for the editors.

We hope that this new practice will contribute to greater transparency in the peer-review process and that we may continue to count on your support and collaboration in maintaining the standards of our journal.

Sincerely,

The Editors
