Abstract

The text refers to Pablo Picasso’s painting The Athlete belonging to MASP, Museu de Arte de São Paulo. It was painted in Spain, in 1909, when the Spanish painter was already living in Paris and traveled to his region. There was no information about the sitter to this painting – considered as an example of analytical cubism –, which has just come to light.
