Historical of the formation of the Neapolitan crib collection that belongs to the Sacred Art Museum of São Paulo though the letters exchanged by Francisco Matarazzo Sobrinho

Abstract

The present work is the result of a master's research entitled Preservation of the Napolitano Nativity Scene at the Museum of Sacred Art of São Paulo: a methodological path towards the elaboration of a scientific inventory, which gathered unprecedented information about the formation of this collection by Francisco Matarazzo Sobrinho, by analyzing your personal correspondence. As the documentation of the collection was stored in a different place from the Count's letters, the present history can only be elaborated after the discovery of these data and their systematization. This was the research's contribution to the preservation of the collection and the safeguarding of its memory.
