Resumen
Este estudio presenta una exégesis y una traducción al portugués del prólogo atribuido al retórico Nicéforo Basilakes, conservado en el manuscrito Scorialensis gr. 265. Escrito como preámbulo editorial para la recopilación de sus obras, el texto griego trasciende la función típica de tal composición, sirviendo también como un ejercicio de reflexión. Aborda aspectos relativos a la escritura (concepción, estilo, difusión, utilidad), los peligros de la fama literaria, la formación del hombre de letras y el papel de la paideia en la construcción de la identidad. A partir de un conjunto paradigmático de referencias bíblicas, clásicas y retóricas, Basilakes presenta —simultáneamente— un relato autobiográfico, un manifiesto literario y una herramienta hermenéutica. Se demuestra así que el prólogo no solo guía la lectura de la obra que introduce, sino que constituye también un breve tratado digno de comentario, en la medida en que ofrece una representación del autor, de su actividad intelectual y del legado que busca transmitir a la posteridad. Esto pone de relieve la importancia del πρόλογος para el estudio de la conciencia autoral y la construcción de la memoria literaria en la cultura bizantina del siglo XII.
