Abstract
The article presents the rock art in Brazil and notes and studies of rock art Portuguese as historiographical sources, allowing interpretations of “rock art”, as the prehistory. In line with the proposal of archaeologists and historians to seek the paintings and their possible historical contexts, this work aims, expound upon some representations zoomorphic (animal), present in the lives of those who painted them, either in the real or imaginary, as real because, as a bestiary prehistoric – the medieval literary genre, that from a work, became a literary genre.
