Abstract

The use of educational robotics as a tool for developing skills in children is in the process of expansion and strengthening. Throughout the world, initiatives emerge in which it acts as a middle for teaching in various knowledge areas. In this context, this article presents a robotic platform for teaching the correct disposal of waste to pre-school children. An experimental scenario was developed for testing and evaluating the artifacts at a school of Early Childhood Education. As a main result, 21 children participated in the activities, demanding in average two trials to conclude the task. The computational experiment carried out highlighted the potential that technologies have when they allow the teacher to propose challenging problems and situations, where children can act with autonomy and creativity.
