Resumo
O artigo investiga a pintura Triangles pointe sur pointe, rectangle, carrés, barres (1931), de Sophie Taeuber-Arp, que integra o acervo do MAC USP. A partir da revisão bibliográfica de uma fortuna crítica sobre a artista e do exame de documentos primários disponíveis nos arquivos históricos do MAC USP e da Bienal de São Paulo, busca-se contextualizar a pintura na trajetória da artista, levando em consideração suas experimentações com dança e artes aplicadas, a fim de promover uma análise formal inédita da obra. Tal análise atravessa discussões de gênero na historiografia da arte moderna e reflexões sobre a persistência da hierarquia entre belas artes e artes aplicadas.
